The email address for prescriptions is prescriptions@pmg.org.uk
(Note: please create a new email and copy or type this address into the 'To..' box. Do not click on the address above to send an email as some people have experienced problems when doing this)
For us to process these requests it is vital the following information is provided:
· Your name, address and date of birth.
· The medicines you want including the dose and the number of tablets.
· Where you would like the prescription to be sent to. This can either be the health centre, Lloyds (either, Victoria Square, High street or Waitrose), Boots or Pharmacy Plus. Eg:
If we do not have enough information to identify who the request is from we will be unable to process the request. If you do not state where you want the prescription to be sent to, we will send it to where the last prescription was sent.
This service is to request repeat prescriptions only. We will not routinely be able to prescribe medicines that you do not have on your repeat prescription.
PLEASE NOTE: 1. This service is not suitable for urgent prescription requests as the email may not arrive in time.
2. This service is NOT for other requests, such as clinical or non-clinical queries. We will not be able to answer such problems via this system. Please see below for the reasons why.
E-mail consultations
E-mail can be a useful tool, but e-mail consultations are problematic. E-mail is an informal method of communication, and this can cause some confusion. There are also confidentiality issues are raised by emails:
- How can we be sure it is the patient who is sending us the e-mail?
How secure is the system you and the patient are using? At present it is recommended that no patient identifiable information should be sent to email addresses outside the NHSmail service
We will also not be able to guarantee a timely response
Dr Richard Thomson.
Please notice that the Practice cannot guarantee the confidentiality/security of information in an email until it is received by us. |
